All-Wheel-Drive Death Valley - 5 Day Adventure

An exploration of the infamous Death Valley and its hidden treasures. There is nothing quite like Death Valley, with it's variety of landscape, history and vast space it truly is a place to experience. As one of the Dark Sky parks (we'll be in the darkest parts of it) Death Valley has amazing night time photography opportunities. This is an adventure that has been designed specifically for All-Wheel-Drive vehicles such as Subarus and Sprinter vans, and you'll get plenty of practice driving back country roads. You'll learn how to deal with some of the hazards of rock, gravel and sandy roads along the way.

Description:

We'll start outside of Death Valley (Big Pine or Las Vegas) and then spend 5 days exploring and taking in the sights of Death Valley's hidden treasures. Hike to the top of 700' sand dunes, dip in luxurious desert hot springs and walk in a desert playa with mysterious "racing" rocks.

All-Inclusive Option:

Professional 4x4 guidance and training, sleeping accommodations, breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinks, and dinner. Accommodations include a trailer mounted rooftop tent with 2.5 inch firm foam mattresses (extra fee) or high quality Shiftpod ground tents with comfortable sleeping pads, camp chairs, and all dining utensils.

Guide Only Option:

Professional 4x4 guidance, training, and safety while negotiating the back roads of Death Valley. You provide your own tent, camping gear, and meals. In addition, I'll provide strong morning coffee (french press) and a warm fire to gather around each evening.

Vehicle Options:

1. All-Wheel-Drive vehicles must have at least 8 inches of ground clearance and good quality mud/snow rated tires and a FULL SIZE spare and the tools to change it (if you get a flat, the little donut style tires will not get you out of Death Valley).

2. There are a variety of AWD rental vehicle options, however please confirm with us first the type of vehicle you will be renting before renting it.

For this adventure you must also bring along:

Sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, camp clothes, a warm jacket for the evenings, sturdy shoes for hiking, a headlamp, and a good community attitude. You will be sent a more comprehensive list once you sign up.
