I’m excited to share that I now have official permits to conduct overland events and training in Central Washington!

I spent some time recently scouting out the area to determine our route, and we’ve put together a great itinerary; including a solidly technical trail run to cap off the weekend for those with appropriately upgraded vehicles.

Here is what you can expect on our upcoming training weekend in Ellensburg, WA on September 12-13, 2026.

OVERLAND TRAINING: TABLE MOUNTAIN & CENTRAL WASHINGTON SCENERY

We’ll start the trip just outside of Ellensburg, WA, before heading up into the Table Mountain area. This part of Central Washington offers some fantastic views, cool geology, and a great network of dirt trails to explore.

Gorgeous scenery is around every corner in Central Washington.

While the scenery is a major highlight, the core focus of the weekend is giving you hands-on experience and building confidence behind the wheel.

WHAT WE'LL COVER: VEHICLE SETUP & SAFE RECOVERIES

This training is most useful for novices, but more experienced drivers will still get plenty out of the trail tips, gear discussions, and technical driving.

Over the course of the weekend, we’ll break down:

  • Rig Fundamentals: Learning how your vehicle’s systems work, how different 4x4 setups compare, and the key components to monitor on the trail.

  • Trail Awareness: Identifying terrain hazards and choosing smart lines.

  • Recovery Demos: Demonstrating basic vehicle recovery tools and walking through how to safely rig a simple winch pull.

CAMP MEALS INCLUDED

To keep things as easy and relaxed as possible for everyone, we are providing dinner and breakfast (including morning coffee) as part of the weekend.

All you need to pack for food is your own daily lunches and enough water to stay hydrated out on the trail.
