FIELD REPORT: GRAND CANYON EXPEDITION - MAY 2025

Two off-road vehicles navigate a rocky trail in a canyon, with a rugged landscape and clear sky. Text on lead vehicle reads "Four Points Adventures."

The Grand Canyon Expedition was great!

This was an expedition-style trip to get to one of the most remote places on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon that a vehicle can get to.

We spent five days exploring, and we didn't see another person or vehicle for three-and-a-half of those days. It was awesome! Though we were out of cell range for most of the adventure, four of the five vehicles had OnStar systems, so we had some redundancy in the "phone home" options. We also had a nice variety of trucks that included a new fully-outfitted Land Rover 110, a Chevy ZR2, CBI's well-equipped 6th Gen 4Runner, a well-outfitted Tacoma, and of course my FJ Cruiser.

Three trucks off-roading on a rocky desert trail surrounded by red cliffs and greenery. The mood is adventurous and rugged.

It was five days of exploring out-of-the-way trails with a variety of interesting campsites, amazing views, some petroglyphs, and some other odd finds (how in the heck did they get that trailer HERE!)

Night camping scene with a lit campfire, an SUV with roof tent, and people gathered around in a desert landscape under a starry sky.

Ultimately, we were able to drive within a mile of the canyon Rim and hiked the last bit to get to the edge, which was one of the main goals, we also reached another goal but that one is a secret for the group to carry to their grave (Ha!)

SUVs drive on a rocky, narrow mountain path under a clear blue sky. The rugged terrain and distant peaks create a sense of adventure.
